A Birthday Request: Help Me Invest in the Future of Girls Anthem
Hi Girls Anthem Family,
As my birthday approaches on August 2nd, I’ve been reflecting on the journey of Girls Anthem and the vision that continues to guide this work: helping women and girls pursue destiny without compromise.
When I started Girls Anthem, my heart was to create a space that equips women and girls with tools, wisdom, and encouragement to walk boldly in who God created them to be. That vision continues to grow through the magazine, The Locker Room, the podcast, and the community we are building together.
I have an opportunity to attend the 2026 Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP) Annual Conference in Minneapolis in October. This conference brings together professionals, researchers, and leaders in sport and performance psychology to learn, connect, and continue advancing the field.
Attending this conference would be a meaningful investment in my growth as a leader and in the work I am building through Girls Anthem. The knowledge, connections, and insights gained would help me continue creating better resources and experiences for women and girls — especially through The Locker Room and our work supporting female athletes beyond the game.
The student registration cost for the AASP Annual Conference is $279 if registered before September 9th. In addition, I have applied to attend the Women of Color Empowered (WE Lead) Sport Leadership Institute, which takes place before the conference. If accepted, that would be another incredible opportunity for growth and connection within the sport and performance psychology space.
As my birthday gift this year, I wanted to invite the Girls Anthem community to partner with me in making this opportunity possible. If you feel led to contribute toward my registration and travel expenses, your support would mean so much. Even a small contribution helps move this opportunity closer to becoming a reality.
The student registration cost for the AASP Annual Conference is $279. Any support received through this request will go specifically toward covering conference registration. Additional travel expenses, including transportation and lodging, would be separate costs.
There is absolutely no pressure. Whether you can give, share, pray, or continue supporting Girls Anthem in other ways, I am deeply grateful for you and for the role you play in this community.
Thank you for believing in this vision and walking with me as Girls Anthem continues to grow.
If you feel led to support, you can contribute via Cash App at $MyaKayEnterprises. Please include “AASP Conference” in the note so I can keep track of contributions toward this opportunity.
